Senior Software Engineer – Remote (Toronto)

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Drive the technical direction and architectural design for multiple projects providing successful delivery of top-notch, scalable, and secure solutions
  • Develop diverse full-stack applications using a combination of React, Node.js, .NET Core, and AWS technologies
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications, designing creative solutions aligned with desired end goals
  • Manage and contribute to both front-end and back-end feature development, adhering and implementing best practices in software development
  • Mentor engineers ranging from junior to mid-level to provide continuous learning, openness to sharing ideas and knowledge and creating paths to advancement
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, maintaining coding standards and architectural principles
  • Optimize performance and security across the application, employing debugging, monitoring, and testing strategies
  • Using AWS DevOps, implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless integration and deployment workflows
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and frameworks, constantly evaluating and introducing new tools to optimize team performance and project outcomes
  • Document key architecture decisions, workflows, and operational guidelines for transparency and effective collaboration
  • Actively engage in Agile processes, contributing to sprint planning, task prioritization, and successful on-time delivery

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with front-end frameworks or libraries (e.g., Vue.js, Angular) to provide flexibility in building dynamic user interfaces
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for managing and provisioning cloud resources
  • Knowledge of data engineering concepts, including experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and working with large datasets to drive data-driven decision-making
  • Certifications in AWS or other cloud platforms (such as Azure or Google Cloud) to demonstrate proficiency in cloud technologies and best practices

Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience, with extensive expertise in full-stack development and delivering end-to-end solutions
  • Advanced proficiency in .NET Core, C#, React, and Node.js, with a deep understanding of each framework's nuances and best practices
  • Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, including designing, developing, and deploying serverless architectures such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3
  • Proven track record of leading the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications that meet both technical and business requirements
  • Expertise in modern CI/CD practices, utilizing tools like AWS DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc. to automate build, test, and deploy pipelines
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native patterns, such as microservices, containerization, and event-driven architectures to build resilient and flexible systems
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead development teams, fostering an environment of technical excellence and innovation while ensuring high team performance.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, and business stakeholders, to ensure successful project delivery
  • In-depth knowledge of application security practices, performance optimization techniques, and experience using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools to ensure system health
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, focused on delivering pragmatic, scalable, and maintainable solutions to complex technical challenges
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and stakeholders

IT Service Desk Analyst

The IT Service Desk Analyst will be reporting to the European IT Service Desk Manager, this position will contribute to the smooth running of the IT Service Desk Support Team by providing IT service support across all jurisdictions, adhering to IT procedures and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for support from Global users via various channels (email, call or ticket) 
  • Provide excellent customer service, with every interaction, striving to exceed client and business expectations
  • Take  ownership of recorded Incidents and Service requests; tracking the progress and follow-up with the user to ensure they are satisfied with the resolution
  • Manage all support in accordance with the Service Desk processes and procedures as well as ensuring all service led measurements are met
  • Complete daily operational tasks as well as any ad-hoc support to setting up meeting rooms, both on and off site, for telephone/video conferencing
  • Provide Hardware and Software support, both locally and remotely for all Ogier Jurisdictions and escalate appropriately
  • Ensure that the IT Service Desk Manager is notified of any on-going faults and training related support calls across all jurisdictions
  • Liaise with the wider IT & Change Support Team regarding outstanding calls and managing customer expectations

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role 
  • Experience and understanding of Microsoft Office 365, Windows 11 and iOS Operating Systems
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn to use a broad array of networking systems hardware/software
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to think and act independently
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of customer service within a busy Service Desk environment
  • Detailed analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in technology 
  • Confident collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills – the role involves engaging with our Ogier business users across all Jurisdictions and in a range of roles within the organisation, including IT SME's 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and handle tight deadlines with priorities
  • Commitment to on-going professional study and examinations is essential to succeed in this role
  • Examples of previous IT projects undertaken or personal study on-going would also be a good support to the application

Reports to: Technical Director

Responsibilities:

  • Using AutoCAD, must be able to produce and maintain multiple projects at one time
  • Maximize team productivity and deliver professional integrity
  • May be asked to review and approve the work of third-party design consultants
  • Visualize new concepts via sketching, digital prototyping, and physical model making
  • Gather drawings and specifications, calculate material and equipment requirements and set up production methods
  • Research current trends in gaming and upcoming entertainment
  • Work cross-functionally with Narrative Design, Creative Design, Engineering, and Marketing
  • Prepare for and help deliver internal presentations for new product concepts
  • Be a valued team member in creating engaging game experiences for a global audience
  • Present work in a manner to ensure satisfaction or make revisions as necessary
  • Apply your knowledge in gaming concepts, practices and procedures
  • Perform a variety of tasks and offer extensive problem-solving skill set
  • Maintain CAD standards and specifications
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years AutoCAD (or higher) experience in gaming discipline preferred
  • Undergraduate study in a design program (Product, Toy, or Industrial Design)
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment, values teamwork, manages multiple projects effectively, and has a passion for games
  • Experience in designing diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate workflow
  • Be able to proactively identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Familiarity with 3D modelling tools
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong skills in writing and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well as PowerPoint
