The Organisation

The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC) is Ireland’s national human rights and equality institution. It was established in November 2014 under the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act 2014 with a statutory mandate to:

  • Protect and promote human rights and equality.
  • Encourage the development of a culture of respect for human rights, equality, and intercultural understanding in the State.
  • Promote understanding and awareness of the importance of human rights and equality in the State.
  • Encourage good practice in intercultural relations, promote tolerance and acceptance of diversity in the State and respect for the freedom and dignity of each person, and,
  • Work towards the elimination of human rights abuses, discrimination and prohibited conduct.

The Commission is now seeking a suitably qualified and committed individual to take up the role of Assistant Principal Officer.

There is currently one vacancy in the Corporate Services Team as Assistant Principal with responsibility for Information Communications Technology/Facilities/Governance.

Assistant Principal level roles, including those in the ICT area, are management positions and you will be expected to carry out general Assistant Principal level management functions as well as the specific ICT/ Facilities and Governance dimension of this role

  • Project management; vendor management; contract management; business relationship and account management; ICT policy analysis and development; ICTstandards development and application;
  • Financial including budget management, procurement, compliance.
  • ICT Manager will also be expected to make a broader corporate contribution to furthering the strategic objectives of the Commission as well as helping to lead digital transformation initiatives for the Commission.
  • Specialist expertise and self-development: successful candidates will be encouraged and supported to undertake further education, training and certification so as to further develop both their technical and professional expertise, as well as working to develop staff members on their team.
  • Facilities Management including building maintenance, health and safety, records management and front of house management.
  • Governance including facilitation of the Audit & Risk Committee, risk management and responses to freedom of information and parliamentary questions.

An Eagraíocht

Is éard is Coimisiún na hÉireann um Chearta an Duine agus Comhionannas ann ná an institiúid náisiúnta atá freagrach as cearta an duine agus comhionannas. Bunaíodh é i Samhain 2014 faoi Acht Choimisiún na hÉireann um Chearta an Duine agus Comhionannas, agus an sainordú seo a leanas aige:

  • Cearta an duine agus comhionannas a chosaint agus a chur chun cinn,
  • Forbairt cultúir a spreagadh ina léireofar meas ar chearta daonna, ar chomhionannas agus ar thuiscint  idirchultúrtha sa Stát,
  • Tuiscint agus feasacht a chothú maidir leis an tábhacht a bhaineann le cearta daonna agus comhionannas sa Stát,
  • An dea-chleachtas a spreagadh ó thaobh caidreamh idirchultúrtha de, caoinfhulaingt agus glacadh le hilchineálacht a chur chun cinn sa Stát, mar aon le meas ar shaoirse agus dhínit gach aon duine, agus
  • Oibriú ar mhaithe le deireadh a chur le treascairtí ar chearta an duine, idirdhealú agus iompar coiscthe.

Lorgaíonn an Coimisiún anois duine a bhfuil na cáilíochtaí oiriúnacha bainte amach acu agus atá tiomanta chun glacadh le ról Príomhoifigeach Cúnta. 

Faoi láthair tá folúntas amháin san Fhoireann Seirbhísí Corparáideacha mar Phríomhoifigeach Cúnta le freagracht as Teicneolaíocht Faisnéise agus Chumarsáide/Saoráidí/Rialachas.

Is poist bhainistíochta iad róil ag leibhéal Príomhoifigigh Chúnta, lena n-áirítear iad siúd sa réimse TFC, agus beifear ag súil go gcomhlíonfaidh tú feidhmeanna bainistíochta ginearálta ag leibhéal an Phríomhoifigigh Chúnta chomh maith le sainghné TFC/Saoráidí agus Rialachais an róil seo.

  • Bainistíocht tionscadail; bainistíocht díoltóirí; bainistiú conartha; caidreamh gnó agus bainistíocht cuntas; anailís agus forbairt beartais TFC; forbairt agus feidhmiú caighdeáin TFC;
  • Feidhmeanna airgeadais, lena n-áirítear bainistíocht buiséid, soláthar, comhlíonadh.
  • Beifear ag súil freisin go ndéanfaidh an Bainisteoir TFC rannchuidiú corparáideach níos leithne chun cuspóirí straitéiseacha an Choimisiúin a chur chun cinn chomh maith le cuidiú le tionscnaimh um chlaochlú digiteach a threorú don Choimisiún.
  • Saineolas agus féinfhorbairt: spreagfar agus tacófar le hiarrthóirí rathúla tabhairt faoi bhreisoideachas, oiliúint agus deimhniúchán chun a saineolas teicniúil agus gairmiúil a fhorbairt tuilleadh, chomh maith le bheith ag obair chun baill foirne a fhorbairt ar a bhfoireann.
  • Bainistíocht Saoráidí lena n-áirítear cothabháil foirgneamh, sláinte agus sábháilteacht, bainistíocht taifead agus bainistíocht aghaidh tí.
  • Rialachas lena n-áirítear éascú an Choiste Iniúchóireachta & Riosca, bainistíocht riosca agus freagraí ar shaoráil faisnéise agus ceisteanna parlaiminte.
