Azure Solution Architect (3-month FTC)

We are seeking a highly experienced and versatile Azure Solution Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based solutions across various industries. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Azure Cloud technologies, .NET development, and cloud architecture, with a proven ability to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions tailored to complex business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture and design of cloud-native solutions using Azure services, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Architect single-tenant, multi-tenant, serverless, event-driven, and microservices-based platforms using Azure Functions, Service Bus, and Azure SQL Server.
  • Design and oversee the integration of complex solutions involving multiple technologies and platforms (e.g., Azure and AWS).
  • Development and Implementation:
  • Develop and implement Azure-based applications using .NET 8/C#, Vue.js, and other modern frameworks.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Bicep/ARM, focusing on infrastructure automation and environment consistency.
  • Engage in hands-on coding when necessary, especially in designing prototypes, proof of concepts (POCs), and optimising existing solutions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to developers, ensuring continuous learning and adherence to modern design principles.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
  • Lead the integration of Azure PaaS services such as Azure Functions, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, and Azure API Management into existing and new systems.
  • Leverage Azure Cognitive Services, Data Factory, Key Vault, and other services to enhance application functionality and security.
  • Ensure proper data management and security practices, including the use of Azure AD B2C and secure messaging systems.
  • Architect solutions that integrate legacy systems with modern cloud platforms, ensuring seamless operation and data integrity.
  • Oversee the implementation of containerized solutions using Docker and other orchestration solutions for scalable deployment.
  • Manage platform-related aspects like observability, logging, metrics, and internationalization to support global operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10+ years in software development, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture (Azure preferred).
  • Proven track record in leading the design and implementation of large-scale cloud-native applications.
  • Strong experience in .NET Core, C# for enterprise-level application development.
  • Proficient in Azure Cloud services, .NET technologies, and associated frameworks.
  • Strong experience with DevOps tools, including Azure DevOps, Bicep, and Terraform.
  • Deep knowledge of database management, including Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and MS SQL.
  • Familiarity with legacy systems and their integration into modern cloud environments.
  • Certifications (Nice to have): Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred).

IT Support Specialist

Position Summary:

  • The IT Support Specialist is a member of the IT Services Team.
  • Located at Kildare village, the IT Support Specialist is the single IT resource onsite, supporting both our village colleagues IT needs as well as critical in-village technology.
  • The IT Support Specialist will play a critical role, directly supporting all village team members by  providing timely desktop, software and mobile device troubleshooting, employing a high degree of customer service, technical expertise and responsiveness.
  • In addition, the IT Support Specialist will be responsible for the ongoing health of all critical in-village technology, including but not limited to CCTV, WiFi, Footfall, Access Control, Guest Services tech). 
  • These responsibilities include aligning with our IT change processes, supporting our technology patching & upgrade programme, and engaging on upcoming village works with our IT project managers. 

Key Responsibilities:

General Village Support

  • Ensure that a high level of customer service is consistently delivered
  • Handle all IT queries made by Value Retail employees based in the village
  • Provide support and testing resource for IT related projects and office moves / re-designs
  • Local monitoring / management the service IT delivers to the village
  • IT point of contact for village VIP’s
  • Occasional remote / onsite IT support to ‘other’ Villages (in the region)

 

Incident / Problem Management

  • Proactively monitor ticket queues within the IT Service Management Tool to ensure all tickets are updated and resolved within the defined SLA
  • Undertake initial diagnosis, categorisation and prioritization of all incidents and service requests and perform first line resolution where applicable
  • Escalate unresolved incidents to internal resolver teams and 3rd party suppliers
  • Ensure all incidents and service requests are recorded in the IT Service Management Tool
  • Keep end customers informed on the status and progress of incidents and requests until an agreed resolution is met
  • Identify problem trends and potential issues and escalate as necessary

 

Project Support

  • Assist with the definition of village specific project requirements
  • Participate in all aspects of project testing related to the village implementation
