Cylinder Handling Operative

Osborne are partnered with a leading provider of industrial, welding, and specialist gases, who are looking to hire a Cylinder Handling Operative to their team on a temporary basis.

  • Temporary opportunity

  • Based 10 miles outside of London

  • £17 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Cylinder Handling & Processing

  • Receive, sort, and inspect incoming gas cylinders for damage or defects

  • Prepare cylinders for filling, including valve checks and labelling

  • Operate filling equipment to fill cylinders with industrial, medical, or specialty gases

  • Ensure correct gas type, pressure, and labelling before dispatch

Quality & Safety Compliance

  • Follow strict health, safety, and environmental guidelines (including HSE regulations)

  • Conduct visual inspections and leak tests on cylinders

  • Ensure compliance with BOC policies and relevant UK legislation (e.g. pressure systems safety regulations)

  • Report faults, hazards, and incidents promptly

Operational Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of cylinder filling and stock movements

  • Use IT systems or handheld devices for tracking inventory (where required)

  • Support stock control and yard organisation

  • Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles

Equipment & Maintenance

  • Operate machinery and equipment safely (e.g. forklifts, conveyors, filling rigs)

  • Perform basic maintenance checks and report equipment issues

  • Keep work areas clean, organised, and hazard-free

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

  • Ability to follow procedures and work within strict guidelines

  • Good teamwork and communication skills

  • Basic IT literacy (for stock systems / scanning equipment)

  • Physical fitness (manual handling required)

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English

  • Experience working in a warehouse, production, or industrial environment

  • Understanding of health and safety practices

Desirable:

  • Forklift licence (counterbalance or reach)

  • Experience with compressed gases or hazardous materials

  • Knowledge of cylinder filling processes

At Osborne, we are partnering with a leading provider of medical imaging and healthcare solutions, in the recruitment of a newly created Warehouse Supervisor position. This role will be based FULLY ONSITE in Dublin 24.
 
Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, you will take ownership of warehouse operations, lead a team of four Warehouse Operatives while ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of medical products and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with medical device regulations, Good Distribution Practice (GDP), quality standards, and company procedures

  • Maintain inventory accuracy and product traceability, including management of batch-controlled and serialised stock

  • Oversee cycle counts, stock takes, and inventory investigations, implementing corrective actions where required

  • Ensure warehouse operations meet health, safety, and environmental standards at all times

  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' warehouse experience, including previous supervisory or team leadership responsibility is ESSENTIAL

  • Valid Manual Handling and relevant MHE certificates are essential

  • Experience within the medical, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated sector is desirable

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes
