We are currently recruiting a qualified Bookkeeper on behalf of our client, a family-owned Irish manufacturer specialising in apparel for healthcare professionals based in Drogheda. You will play a key role in managing the finance functions within the business working directly with the managing director. This role is ideal for a bookkeeper looking to grown in their role and broaden their scope and skillsets and further their studies and progress towards becoming a fully qualified accountant

•    Salary 45K – 50K DOE
•    Hybrid working 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Preparing of VAT, VIES and other Revenue returns
•    Assisting with the preparation of the monthly Management Accounts
•    Processing and managing payroll, pensions, and related matters
•    Assisting with financial administration to Trial Balance stage, including order/invoice and payments processing.
•    Providing occasional PA/EA support to Directors.
•    Proficiency with Xero software and add-ons
•    Point of contact for senior management
•    Handling administrative and operational tasks with discretion and efficiency
•    Managing office supplies, vendor relationships, and facility needs.

Key Experience:
•    4+ years of experience in a similar role 
•    QQI level 5 Bookkeeping or ATT/ATI qualifications essential 
•    Bachelor's degree in business/administration or a related field preferred.
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
•    A self-motivated and proactive approach

What you will do

What you will need

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) or part-qualified accountant actively progressing through professional exams.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, management accounts, and reconciliations.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide commercial insights.
  • Solid understanding of financial controls, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and strong systems/ERP proficiency.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own borrowing base calculations, certifications, and compliance across all credit facilities
  • Oversee covenant monitoring and lender reporting; serve as primary finance contact for lenders
  • Lead multi-year project and portfolio-level financial planning, forecasting, and modeling
  • Manage enterprise cash flow forecasting, liquidity tracking, and capital runway analysis
  • Build and maintain project-level and consolidated return and waterfall models
  • Identify credit, liquidity, and covenant risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Translate complex development and financial data into clear insights for senior leadership and capital partners
  • Support refinancings, amendments, new facilities, joint ventures, and acquisition activity

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 8–12+ years of experience in FP&A, credit analytics, real estate finance, or project finance
  • Hands-on experience with borrowing base facilities and covenant structures
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Strong understanding of land development economics
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally and communicate effectively with executives and lenders

Important to Have:
