Assistant Project Manager – Customer Information Systems (CIS)

  • Location: Dublin 
  • Salary: DOE

Role & Purpose:

  • Support the Project Manager in delivering CIS projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality and scope.
  • Manage project teams, design consultants, and contractors.
  • Coordinate both internal and external resources.

Key projects include:

  • Station Customer Service Systems (SCSS): Deployment of Passenger Information Display Systems, PA systems, Help Points, CCTV, telecom infrastructure, and associated civils/structural works at stations.
  • Customer Communications Centre (CCC): Establishment of a communications centre with an Integrated Systems Management Platform for centralised monitoring and control of station systems.
  • Responsibilities span from project inception through design, procurement, construction, and handover.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to aid effective delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and legislation.
  • Provide professional support and deputise for the Project Manager as required.
  • May be assigned to additional projects as needed.

Reports To:

  • Project Manager, CIS Projects

Working Relationships Include:

  • Internal project staff and multidisciplinary teams
  • Contractors and consultants
  • Station managers
  • Various internal departments (engineering, procurement, operations, legal, IT, property, etc.)
  • External agencies (e.g., local authorities, regulatory bodies, utility providers)

Key Qualities
Essential:

  • Degree in Building, Engineering, Construction, or Project Management.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body.
  • At least 5 years of project engineering experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Experience in budget and programme management.
  • Full driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience in multi-disciplinary projects, preferably in transport infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of CIS systems and related infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Construction Regulations and contract frameworks (e.g., CWMF, NEC, Public Works).
  • Knowledge of safety, planning, and environmental legislation.
  • Understanding of national project approval guidelines and funding applications.

  • Coordinate all project activities and deliverables within designated areas.

People:

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support team development and management.

Specific Responsibilities:
Engineering:

  • Support feasibility studies, surveys, design, procurement, construction, and handover of CIS projects.
  • Maintain project control processes and reporting mechanisms.

Safety:

  • Fulfil responsibilities under the relevant Safety Responsibility Statement.
  • Manage risks, compliance, and safety assurance across all project stages.

People:

  • Align team responsibilities to achieve project safety and performance objectives.
  • Facilitate team communications and support.

Finance:

  • Manage budgets and financial reporting.
  • Monitor work for payment accuracy and compliance with procurement procedures.
  • Assist with performance and budget stewardship reports.
