Sales Manager

Reporting to: Managing Director
Direct Reports: Sales Team
Location: Dublin – Hybrid
Hours: 9.00am – 5:30pm

Here at Osborne, we are recruiting a Sales Manager on behalf of our client. This an excellent opportunity to work with one of the fastest growing higher education institutions in Ireland located in the heart of Dublin. As Sales Manager, you will play a vital role in optimising the organisation’s commercial operations and income-generating activities. This is very much a strategic role, focused on identifying new opportunities, enhancing existing services and ensuring extremely high standards of delivery across external partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop commercial strategies in line the organisational goals
  • Identify new revenue-generating opportunities
  • Prepare business cases as required to support investment and growth
  • Lead the sales team, introducing new processes, techniques, KPIs and performance management
  • Ensure efficient day-today operations and a high-quality customer experience
  • Develop and manage relationships with external partners, increasing our B2B activities
  • Drive improvements in service delivery, sustainability and profitability
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with external partners
  • Work closely with academic and professional teams to explore innovation and new collaborations
  • Ensure all activities comply with policies, regulations and relevant legislation
  • Assess and manage commercial risks, including reputational and financial factors

Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a commercial management or business development role, ideally in an educational environment (but not essential)
  • Possess strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting and profit/loss management
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to analyse data, using it to make informed decisions and implement improvements
  • Comfortable working across a complex organisation, working closely with varied stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with library cataloguing systems and basic knowledge of library classification is desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Workspace apps
