Senior Mechanical Engineer

Osborne Recruitment are seeking an ambitious and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead innovative design solutions and mentor a high-performing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to take the next step in their career and play a pivotal role in developing complex electromechanical systems.

• Job Type: Full Time Permanent 
• Location: Swords, Dublin 
• Salary: DOE 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical systems to enhance product performance and reliability.
• Integrate electromechanical sub-assemblies including fluidics, optics, and electronics.
• Lead verification, validation, and configuration control activities.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance across the engineering team.
• Collaborate across the full product lifecycle—from concept to manufacturing.

Requirements:

• Degree (Level 8) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar.
• 8+ years’ relevant experience in mechanical/electromechanical design.
• Proficient in CAD modelling, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Desirable:

• Experience with CFD, FEA, and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (moulding, casting, machining).
• Familiarity with safety standards, CE marking, and the Machinery Directive.
• Understanding of control systems engineering (motors, PID control, etc.).
