Glassware Operative

Our client in North Wicklow is seeking a Glassware Operative to join their team on a temporary basis. You will support the management and maintenance of Labware in relation to the companies policy and procedures.
 
For You:

  • 13.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preforming manual and automated cleaning, operation of drying cabinet, labelling labware, preparation for autoclaving and operation.
  • Schedule of autoclave to ensure sufficient stocks are available for production. Autoclaving also includes pipette tips.
  • Rotation of labware as per replenishment guidelines and reporting to the Leader when spares or replacements are needed.
  • Ensure stock levels of materials is optimal at all times. Reordering stock when required.
  • Maintain weekly cleaning detergents.
  • Reporting any issues to the team leader and ensuring all documentation is completed.
  • Support the training of fellow colleagues on labware management activities as required.
  • Cleaning of equipment and tools.
  • Ad hoc support to other teams as and when required.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment and regulated industry is desirable.
  • Understanding of productions operations, health & safety, quality control cGMP / GLP requirement.
  • High level of care and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisation and communication skills.
  • Good Microsoft office skills including work and excel.
  • The ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor the control systems in the panel room to ensure smooth functioning of the animal feed plant.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and systems
  • Ensure that all equipment is operating efficiently and effectively
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise in the control systems, minimizing downtime and optimizing plant performance.
  • Collaborate with the plant operators, maintenance team, and supervisors to ensure effective communication and coordination during routine operations, maintenance, and plant shutdowns.
  • Monitor process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and levels, and take appropriate actions to maintain them within specified limits.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records of operational data, equipment performance, maintenance activities, and any incidents or abnormalities.

 
Qualifications:

  • Leaving certificate or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in industrial automation or control systems is preferred.
  • Diploma/degree in electrical or mechanical engineering an advantage
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills to identify and resolve control system issues promptly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • Extensive equipment repair experience – a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience and foundational education in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electronic systems, applying both theory and practice effectively.
  • Must be able to perform essential repairs and routine maintenance, utilizing specialized tools and equipment while following detailed Technical Manual procedures to ensure precision and compliance, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Product knowledge and a familiarity with John Deere equipment, as well as knowledge of competitive agricultural machinery, is a significant asset.
  • Expertise and the ability to provide insightful diagnostics, perform precision repairs, and make informed recommendations to clients.
  • Advanced mechanical knowledge and a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems commonly found in agricultural and turf equipment, supporting complex diagnostics and high-quality repair work.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, and a strong working knowledge of current business and diagnostic software is essential, as well as the ability to navigate and utilize computer functions necessary for modern diagnostics and service record management.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and test vehicles, with fluent reading, writing, and comprehension of the English language for accurate communication and documentation.
