Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage material plans in line with production forecasts and changing demand.
  • Keep a close eye on inventory levels to ensure materials are always available—without overstocking or risking expiry.
  • Work closely with teams across procurement, production, quality, purchasing, and logistics to keep everything aligned.
  • Coordinate with logistics to track and manage the movement of materials between international manufacturing sites.
  • Raise material orders in advance based on upcoming production needs, taking into account supplier lead times and internal approvals.
  • Put together clear reports and summaries to support material order decisions.
  • Stay in regular contact with suppliers and purchasing to manage deliveries and quickly resolve any issues.
  • Review demand trends and adjust plans to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  • Keep ERP/MRP systems accurate and up to date.
  • Support new product launches and engineering changes by planning materials and handling related documentation.
  • Carry out regular inventory checks, investigate discrepancies, and help put fixes in place.
  • Follow all GMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
  • Get involved in continuous improvement initiatives to make supply chain processes even better.

 
Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a material planning or scheduling role within manufacturing.
  • Good working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills.
  • Solid analytical skills with a well-organised approach to work.
  • Clear communicator who works well with different teams.
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma is a bonus, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
Automotive Mirror Glass Processing

  • Lead process development for cutting, tempering, coating, and laminating mirror-grade glass.
  • Optimize application of reflective and protective coatings (e.g., aluminum, chrome, anti-fog, or anti-glare).
  • Develop and validate bonding methods for multi-layer assemblies and mirror substrates.

Manufacturing & Process Engineering

  • Design, implement, and optimize scalable production processes with high yield and repeatability.
  • Apply DOE, root cause analysis, and SPC to resolve process variation and drive continuous improvement.
  • Select and qualify equipment, automation, and tooling for new or improved processes.

Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & Cost Optimization

  • Collaborate with design and product engineering teams to influence mirror and glass designs for manufacturability.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify assembly steps, reduce scrap, and improve raw material utilization

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with R&D, product design, and operations to bring new mirror technologies into production.

  • Act as the technical voice for glass processing in cross-functional forums.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5–10 years in glass processing, coatings, or mirror/display manufacturing
  • Automotive experience highly valued; transferable experience from consumer electronics, architectural glass, or touch display industries considered.
  • Exposure to high-volume manufacturing environments with stringent quality standards.
  • Expertise in coating technologies (PVD, CVD, sputtering, chemical deposition) and bonding/lamination.

  • Experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment desirable but not essential
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory compliance

Job Context

• Reporting to the National Maintenance Manager
• The Engineering Manager provides technical leadership for Maintenance Team across all sites.

• Heavily involved in the creation of training programs with Maintenance Manager

There is a very broad range of highly technical and specialized equipment under the care of the Maintenance team.

Purpose of the Job
• To Provide Technical Leadership to the Maintenance Staff, in areas of technical difficulty that may arise as part of the daily duties..
• To provide a key focus for the provision of long term solutions to technical issues that arise on all equipment, providing the technical solution that our maintenance staff will eventually use.
• To provide backup for the Maintenance team including the Maintenance Mgr wrt all technical issues.
• To provide cover for technical supervisor and Manager where required
• To be the technical expert that the maintenance team can turn to for a higher level of support on any machine related issue.
• Qualification of our Preventative, Predictive, Corrective maintenance and machine performance.

Main Responsibilities
• Attending and reporting on performance testing onsite. Using the failure information obtained during testing to develop better and improved maintenance practices within the group, feeding back this information to maintenance staff via supervisor and manager.
• Developing and maintaining customer relationships with users of the centre to the satisfaction of the customer
• Diagnosing and solving problems in a planned and cost effective way, taking into account technicians needs and the needs of the customer.
• Taking a proactive approach to the prevention of breakdowns and maintaining high quality of machine performance and machine availability, in a role that assists the Maintenance Team
• Developing, utilising and maintaining appropriate information systems, identify problem areas and modifications for machine improvements.

The solutions obtained by means of detailed investigations will then be fed back to the maintenance team via the appropriate route ( maint mgr, tech supervisor, technician) with the appropriate recommendations for modification of the process or procedures.
• All aspects of Spares management including tracking (CMMS), sourcing, purchasing, deliveries and invoicing.

Knowledge Skills and Experience
• Expertise in automation systems with specialist knowledge of key elements and understanding of their function.
• The current (large) equipment suppliers include; NEC, Leonardo, Beumer and EA&E.
• A recognised engineering qualification which provides expertise in Electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering and knowledge on replacement of all computer systems.
• Experience in planning, organising and solving advanced technical issues using proper traceable methods.

Osborne have an opening for an Experienced Maintenance Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have a qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering desired, L7 desired or evidence of experience as well as experience in hands on fault finding on all aspects of operation/production equipment. Experience on high speed sortation equipment (letters and parcels/packets) such as NEC, Beumer, Leonard and EA&E will be an advantage.

  • This role is multipurpose encompassing:-
    • Assist with the day-to-day management of a busy maintenance team, both hands on and organizational requirement
    • Ability to fault find problems on equipment utilizing documentation and OEM support, working with the various shift teams.
    • Assist with Spares management
    • PM management, ensuring PMs are completed and signed off daily and weekly
    • Internal fault reporting.
    • Assisting with the management and operation of the shift rota and cover schedules, holidays, training etc.
  • Excellent opportunity to work with state of the art technology and automated equipment.
  • The role will work with and promote good working relationships with the various shift maintenance teams and crews, 12hr and 2 cycle shift teams.
  • Day role – Mon to Friday 08:00 to 16:30 (39 hr working week)

Job Activity:
• The Maintenance Supervisor provides technical leadership for Maintenance Team.
• The Maintenance Supervisor ensures the goals are in line with the requirement of management
• Maintaining procedures and documentation on ISO standards of Quality
• Maintenance of spreadsheet timesheets, for all Maintenance personnel for approval by the Maintenance Manager
• Plan leave and sick cover on shift roster
• Authorising purchasing requests completed by stores person.
• Responsible for Preventative, Predictive, Corrective maintenance and machine performance.

Purpose of the Job
• To Provide Leadership to the Senior Technicians, Technicians and Technical Cleaners in technical or operational matters.
• To Provide the key focus for liaisons with Maintenance Manager and Shift Managers

Main Responsibilities
• Developing and maintaining customer relationships with users of the centre to the satisfaction of the customer
• Diagnosing and solving problems in a planned and cost effective way, taking into account technicians needs and the needs of the customer.
• Taking a proactive approach to the prevention of breakdowns and maintaining high quality of machine performance and machine availability.
• Developing , utilising and maintaining appropriate information systems, identify problem areas and modifications for machine improvements.
• Follow up on improvements to provide a continually improving service to the customer.
• Be aware of, and in accordance with current health and safety legislation and best practices as it relates to the workplace, give guidance and direction to others where necessary.
• Coaching and training Technicians and Technical cleaners on best practices on productive maintenance procedures.
• Communicate with others within the organization, understanding their views and needs, explaining and presenting information that will he easily he understood and directing as necessary.
• Taking the lead role in co-coordinating technical issues within the team encouraging and supporting the initiatives of team members.
• Identifying and responding to changing, operational needs, demonstrating flexibility and ensuring that the team understands the requirements of the customer and fine tuning performance.
• Provide first level of escalation for equipment faults

Knowledge Skills and Experience

• Expertise in automation systems with specialist knowledge of key elements and understanding of their function internally.
• A recognised engineering qualification which provides expertise in Electrical electronic and mechanical engineering and knowledge on replacement of all computer systems
• Knowledge of Health and Safety at work.
• Interpersonal skills such as the ability to make technical problems understood by non-technical people, listening coaching, and supporting motivation.

• The ability to make use of diagnostic tools and techniques.

Decisions:
• Decision in consultations with the shift manager(s), when to take a machine out of a service for repair.
• Working out, by use of appropriate tools and techniques improvement opportunities and prioritising their implementation.
• Where appropriate coaching, developing technicians and technical cleaners on total preventative maintenance.
• In consultation with the Maintenance Manager, modification and implementation of maintenance routines.
• Decision on escalation of fault status to next level
