Role Summary:

The successful candidate will work as part of the Engineering team and will be responsible for:

  • Management of the design, implementation and handover of multi-disciplinary engineering projects; focusing on a broad range of Group Projects from Building Services, Production Facility Upgrades, Project management of small and large-scale projects.
  • Manage and coordinate element on multiple projects on various production sites for the duration of projects.
  • Implement and adhere to company project management procedures and SOPs to deliver projects.
  • Design and tender of engineering projects, including generating user requirement specifications, tender specifications and tender drawings.
  • Verification, commissioning and handover of engineering systems to end users.
  • Develop project budgets and manage for the lifecycle of the project.
  • Work as part of a wider project team and assist in the delivery of key projects.
  • Facilitate and participate in the department’s continuous improvement program.
  • Design engineering systems and upgrades and implement same.
  • Provide technical support to production sites.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A 3rd Level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or similar.
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in a Project Engineering role within Engineering Project Management functions with experience working on medium and large-scale capital projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Project.
  • Excellent AutoCAD skills.
  • Certified qualification in Project Management preferable.
  • Proven experience in delivering projects from conception to completion.
  • Proven budget management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and legislation.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience of strong organisational skills.
  • Flexibility and be willing to travel to production sites throughout Ireland as required

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering quality and process flow, with experience in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor the control systems in the panel room to ensure smooth functioning of the animal feed plant.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and systems
  • Ensure that all equipment is operating efficiently and effectively
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise in the control systems, minimizing downtime and optimizing plant performance.
  • Collaborate with the plant operators, maintenance team, and supervisors to ensure effective communication and coordination during routine operations, maintenance, and plant shutdowns.
  • Monitor process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and levels, and take appropriate actions to maintain them within specified limits.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records of operational data, equipment performance, maintenance activities, and any incidents or abnormalities.

 
Qualifications:

  • Leaving certificate or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in industrial automation or control systems is preferred.
  • Diploma/degree in electrical or mechanical engineering an advantage
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills to identify and resolve control system issues promptly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
