Payroll Specialist – Ontario
Osborne Recruitment is delighted to partner with an international construction firm looking for a full-time remote Payroll Specialist to support two divisions of their company. Payroll will be processed weekly for most employees with some specific monthly payroll requirements for 220 employees’ company wide.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Executing standard payroll practices
- Working with hourly employees to ensure appropriate deductions are applied, vacation time and statutory holiday payouts are accurately processed, per-diem reimbursements are allocated, etc.
- Accurate time reporting including proactively collecting timecards
- Reconciling hours worked versus scheduled shifts
- Addressing all employee inquires related to payroll
- Monitoring all details that go into the payment processing
- Job costing
- Completion of all required training and desire for continued professional development
Qualifications:
- Have basic knowledge of payroll best practices
- Experience with Explorer Eclipse software or similar payroll programs
- Minimum of 2 years of weekly payrolling experience in a high-volume environment
- Ability to work autonomously with little supervision
- Must be available to work traditional business hours Monday through Friday (40 hours)
- Able to troubleshoot and solve pay discrepancies quickly and effectively
- Candidates should be comfortable training remotely and working autonomously. Payroll duties take on average 3.5 days to fully complete. Remaining 1.5 days will cover additional accounting functions as required.
