Osborne visits Seattle as part of Trade Mission

Osborne’s Director of Commercial Development David Walsh and Senior Commercial Development Manager Jim Wylie were delighted to travel to Seattle as part of a trade mission recently with Fingal County Council and Fingal Chamber.

The trade mission, led by the outgoing Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Howard Mahony, and Fingal Chamber Vice-President Kevin Smith was to create economic, educational and tourism opportunities between Fingal and Washington State. They were joined by Fingal County Council Chief Executive AnnMarie Farrelly, Fingal Chamber Chief Executive Anthony Cooney and the President of Dublin City University, Daire Keogh.

Speaking following the trip David Walsh Director of Commercial Development with Osborne said “It was a fantastic visit and striking to see the reach that Irish organisations and Irish based companies have in the world. What was most impressive is how many of these world changing and world leading initiatives originated, or are being driven from Ireland. With valuable insights into what is happening in terms of sustainability and green tech it was a exceptional insight into what businesses can do to meet the challenges around innovation and education”

Jim Wylie, Senior Commercial Development Manager with Osborne also said “Our Trade Mission was an excellent opportunity to forge strategic relationships with other members of the Trade Mission from Fingal County Council, Technological University Dublin, Dublin City University and Skillnet Ireland along with our strategic partner, Fingal Chamber of

Commerce. Visiting Seattle allowed Osborne to get 1st hand knowledge of new ideas and innovations and also develop new links on an International

level.”
