Job Description

Osborne is delighted to partner with a leading private healthcare provider in the recruitment of a Trainee Medical Administrator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in medical administration, with structured training, ongoing support, and a clear progression pathway into a Senior Medical Administrator position.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day administration of a busy specialist healthcare service while developing the skills and knowledge required to deliver an exceptional patient experience. This role would suit a highly organised, customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn.

Location: Waterford City
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: From €31,000 per annum + Attendance Bonus

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing a high volume of patient and general enquiries via telephone and email.
  • Support the scheduling and coordination of patient appointments.
  • Maintain and update patient information accurately within the practice management system.
  • Assist with insurance documentation, billing administration, and general record keeping.
  • Perform accurate data entry while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company procedures.
  • Prepare routine correspondence and administrative documentation.
  • Deliver a professional and patient-focused service at all times.
  • Support senior administrators with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks.
  • Participate in structured training and development to build knowledge and progress within the role.
  • Carry out additional administrative duties as required.

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Qualifications

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in an office, reception, administration, or customer service role is desirable.
  • No previous medical administration experience is required as full training will be provided.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Full eligibility to work in Ireland.
