Our client is a well-established and highly successful supplier to the construction and building industry, with a strong presence across Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Warehouse Operative to join their Cork team based on the Tramore Road.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining customer service and sales at the trade counter with warehouse responsibilities. It would suit someone who enjoys working with customers, has a commercial mindset, and is equally comfortable working in a busy warehouse environment.

For You

• Salary: €36,000 – €38,000
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm.
• Annual Leave: 24 days.

The Role

You will be one of the key points of contact for customers, supporting both the sales and warehouse operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Meeting and greeting customers at the trade counter.
• Processing sales directly with customers.
• Handling customer enquiries and orders by telephone and email.
• Providing a professional and friendly customer service experience.
• Assisting with stock control and general administration.
• Supporting the external sales team with customer and order requirements.
• Working in the warehouse, including loading and unloading trucks and containers.
• Picking and preparing orders for customer collections and deliveries.
• Operating counterbalance forklift.
• Ensuring the warehouse and stock areas are kept organised and safe.
• Working independently when required while also contributing positively to the wider team.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a trade counter, builders’ merchants, construction, building materials, warehouse or sales environment would be advantageous.
• Valid counterbalance forklift licence.
• Commercially aware with a strong customer-focused approach.
• Confident communicator who can deal effectively with customers at all levels.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, busy environment.
• Able to move between customer-facing sales duties and hands-on warehouse responsibilities.
• Reliable, proactive and organised, with a strong work ethic.
• Willing to learn and develop within the business.
• Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
