Temporary HR Officer

A leading public sector organisation is currently seeking an experienced Temporary HR Officer to join their team on an interim assignment for approximately 3 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to provide operational HR support within a busy public sector environment.

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Temporary HR Officer will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the organisation’s HR function. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day HR support, assist with recruitment activities, manage payroll processes, and ensure the delivery of an efficient, compliant, and customer-focused HR service.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Officer to join a respected public sector organisation and make an immediate impact.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: €40,000 – €60,000
  • Location: Dublin 2
  • Contract: 3-month temporary contract
  • Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Responsibilities of Role:

  • Provide day-to-day HR operational support across the organisation.
  • Support the recruitment process, including job advertising, candidate management, interview coordination, and onboarding activities.
  • Manage employee records, HR systems, and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support payroll processes, ensuring employee information is processed accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Assist with employee lifecycle administration, including starters, leavers, contract changes, and employee documentation.
  • Respond to employee and manager queries on HR policies, procedures, and general HR matters.
  • Support the administration of public sector employee entitlements, including leave and benefits.
  • Assist with HR reporting, data management, and the preparation of HR metrics.
  • Ensure HR processes are compliant with Irish employment legislation and organisational policies.
  • Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements for Role:

  • Must be available immediately to start the contract role.
  • Previous experience working in an HR Officer or similar HR operations role.
  • Strong experience supporting recruitment processes and payroll administration.
  • Public sector experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a busy HR environment.
