Job Description

Technical Support Specialist (Part-Time)

Our client, a busy and growing client services company based in County Louth, is currently seeking an experienced and technically minded Part-Time Technical Support Specialist to join their team.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in technical support, systems administration, troubleshooting and customer/client support, who enjoys investigating issues, resolving problems and providing a high level of technical assistance in a busy working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to clients and internal users by phone, email and other support channels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, escalating more complex problems where required.
  • Investigate issues methodically and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Manage and monitor support requests, ensuring issues are followed through to resolution.
  • Assist with user access, system setup, configuration and general IT support.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical issues, solutions and system changes.
  • Liaise with external IT providers and technical partners when required.
  • Provide guidance and basic training to users on systems and processes.
  • Assist with system testing, updates and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a high level of client service while managing multiple technical queries.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a technical support, IT support, helpdesk or systems-focused role is essential.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of business software, systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience supporting users with technical queries by phone, email or in person.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and manage multiple support requests.
  • Experience with accounting, CRM, ERP or other business management systems would be advantageous.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications would be beneficial but are not essential where strong practical experience is demonstrated.

The successful candidate will be technically minded, solutions-focused and confident dealing directly with users and clients. They will have a genuine interest in technology and troubleshooting, with the ability to understand a problem, investigate the cause and see it through to resolution.
