Quality Assurance Technologist

Location: Dublin 11

Salary: DOE

Osborne Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Quality Assurance Technologist to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business based in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who is passionate about food safety, compliance and continuous improvement. Working within a collaborative technical team, you will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, supporting customer requirements, preparing for audits and driving quality initiatives across the business.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to a number of exciting business projects, including the implementation of new quality systems, process improvements and operational development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Specifications & Technical Support

  • Manage customer specifications and technical information through customer portals.
  • Coordinate specification submissions, updates and approvals.
  • Respond to customer technical queries and information requests.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing timely technical support.

Quality Management & Compliance

  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with BRCGS standards, HACCP principles, customer requirements and relevant food legislation.
  • Investigate customer complaints and support the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Manage non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are completed effectively.

Auditing & Food Safety

  • Plan and carry out internal quality and food safety audits.
  • Support customer, regulatory and third-party audits.
  • Assist with audit preparation, documentation and follow-up activities.
  • Promote and maintain a strong food safety culture throughout the business.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support quality improvement initiatives across production and operational functions.
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing development of quality management systems.
  • Contribute to business improvement projects, including system implementation, process optimisation and validation activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance and quality performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Production, Operations, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to achieve quality objectives.
  • Support customer visits, site inspections and technical audits.
  • Assist with quality and food safety training across the business where required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Third-level qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience within a quality or technical role in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety management systems including BRCGS and HACCP.
  • Experience managing customer specifications and technical documentation.
  • Previous experience supporting customer, regulatory and third-party audits.
  • Proven ability to investigate quality issues, customer complaints and non-conformances while implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience using quality management software such as Foods Connected or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food manufacturing environments.
  • Good understanding of Irish and EU food legislation.
  • Previous experience within a B2B food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or business transformation projects.
