National Account Manager
Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
Salary: €60,000 base salary

Head of Sales & Business Development
Job Purpose
The National Account Manager will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of key customer accounts, maximising sales and profitability while ensuring consistently high levels of customer satisfaction. The role will work closely with internal departments, particularly Supply Chain, Finance, Sales Administration and New Product Development, to ensure excellent order fulfilment, protect existing business and identify opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue & Profitability – Meet or exceed agreed sales revenue and profitability targets across assigned customer accounts.
- Forecasting & Planning – Work closely with Supply Chain to accurately forecast product requirements, maintain up-to-date projections and respond to changing customer demand.
- Account Management – Take full ownership of assigned accounts, ensuring customers receive a high level of service and that commercial opportunities are maximised.
- Customer Service – Manage customer enquiries, resolve issues promptly and ensure a consistently positive customer experience.
- Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, identifying opportunities to increase sales and develop existing accounts.
- Customer Experience – Understand customer requirements and ensure expectations are consistently met across service, delivery and product.
- Project Management – Manage customer projects from initial approval through to completion, ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication at every stage.
- Pricing & Quotations – Manage pricing requests, prepare quotations with support from Finance, and maintain oversight of customer credit and outstanding debt.
- Sample Management – Coordinate product sample requests and work with internal teams to ensure samples are prepared and delivered within agreed timescales.
- Sales Reviews & Communication – Prepare and deliver regular sales reviews and maintain proactive communication with customers regarding forecasts, future requirements and ongoing projects.
New Product Development:
- Work closely with the NPD team to ensure new products and packaging meet customer requirements, managing communication and updates throughout the development process.
- Business Development – Develop relationships with prospective customers and identify new business opportunities in line with the wider sales growth strategy.
- Inventory Management – Oversee inventory requirements for assigned customers, including bespoke finished goods and raw material agreements, while managing any excess or leftover stock effectively.
- Continuous Development – Take an active approach to professional development, supporting ongoing career progression within the organisation.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Account Management or National Account Management role, ideally within the FMCG sector.
- Strong understanding of FMCG commercial practices and customer requirements.
- Proven experience managing and developing key customer relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities for sales growth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Recognition of Prior Learning may be considered where candidates can demonstrate relevant experience, training or transferable skills.
- Proactive and demonstrates strong initiative.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond positively to changing business and customer requirements.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and reliability.

Additional Information:
The responsibilities of the role may evolve over time in line with the changing needs of the business.
Some travel may be required as part of the role.
