Job Description

Medical HR Workforce Planner

We are seeking an experienced Medical HR Workforce Planner to lead the delivery of Medical HR services within a dynamic healthcare environment. This is a senior leadership role responsible for workforce strategy, overseeing medical recruitment and workforce planning, ensuring HR and payroll governance.

Salary: 80-100k DOE

Location: Co. Louth
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Medical HR function, ensuring best practice across workforce planning, recruitment, payroll governance, employee relations, and performance management
  • Partner with the CEO, Clinical Director, Executive Management Team, and key stakeholders to deliver strategic workforce initiatives
  • Oversee consultant and NCHD recruitment, onboarding, retention, rota management, and contract compliance
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, employment legislation, Medical Council requirements, EWTD regulations, and national workforce frameworks
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and leadership development
  • Lead employee and industrial relations activities, providing expert advice on complex HR matters
  • Manage Medical HR reporting, workforce analytics, and governance while driving continuous improvement across HR processes
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the HSE, Medical Council, Royal Colleges, and National Doctors Training & Planning
  • Lead HR projects and organisational change initiatives that support service improvement and healthcare reform

Requirements

  • Third-level qualification in Human Resources, Health Service Management, or a related discipline
  • Significant senior HR management experience with responsibility for both operational and strategic HR delivery
  • Extensive experience across workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, industrial relations, payroll oversight, learning and development, and performance management
  • Proven leadership experience with a strong track record of delivering organisational change and service improvement
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
  • Experience within healthcare, public sector, or another complex multi-stakeholder environment is highly desirable
