Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Naas

Salary: DOE

Working Hours: 7am – 3:30pm 

Osborne are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team within a busy manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support across the production facility, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while minimising downtime. This is a hands-on role involving planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, machine diagnostics and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day maintenance support across the production facility.
  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Complete electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs on PLC-controlled machinery.
  • Carry out wiring, installation and commissioning of plant and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machinery using PLC programmes, wiring diagrams and control systems.
  • Carry out facility checks, meter readings and follow up on any issues identified.
  • Work with equipment suppliers on new installations, modifications and equipment upgrades.
  • Provide technical support across site services, including compressed air and refrigeration systems.
  • Maximise machinery uptime and minimise production downtime.
  • Manage on-site contractors, including inductions and permit requirements.
  • Complete maintenance work orders safely, accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Support continuous improvement and equipment optimisation projects.
  • Assist with risk assessments for new and existing machinery.
  • Support maintenance cover, call-outs and other operational requirements as required.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, hygiene and GMP at all times.

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant engineering qualification or recognised apprenticeship as an Electrician, Fitter or Maintenance Technician.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role.
  • Strong planned and reactive maintenance experience.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and machine diagnostics.
  • Good understanding of electrical control systems and industrial machinery.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability.
  • Excellent awareness of Health & Safety and quality requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
