Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Working Hours: 7am – 3:30pm
Osborne are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team within a busy manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support across the production facility, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while minimising downtime. This is a hands-on role involving planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, machine diagnostics and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day maintenance support across the production facility.
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment.
- Complete electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs on PLC-controlled machinery.
- Carry out wiring, installation and commissioning of plant and equipment.
- Troubleshoot machinery using PLC programmes, wiring diagrams and control systems.
- Carry out facility checks, meter readings and follow up on any issues identified.
- Work with equipment suppliers on new installations, modifications and equipment upgrades.
- Provide technical support across site services, including compressed air and refrigeration systems.
- Maximise machinery uptime and minimise production downtime.
- Manage on-site contractors, including inductions and permit requirements.
- Complete maintenance work orders safely, accurately and within required timeframes.
- Support continuous improvement and equipment optimisation projects.
- Assist with risk assessments for new and existing machinery.
- Support maintenance cover, call-outs and other operational requirements as required.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, hygiene and GMP at all times.
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant engineering qualification or recognised apprenticeship as an Electrician, Fitter or Maintenance Technician.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role.
- Strong planned and reactive maintenance experience.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and machine diagnostics.
- Good understanding of electrical control systems and industrial machinery.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability.
- Excellent awareness of Health & Safety and quality requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
