Pay: €24.00 – €32.00 per hour
Shift Pattern: 12-hour rotating shifts (7:00am–7:00pm / 7:00pm–7:00am)

Job Description

A leading industrial manufacturing facility in Ballyconnell, County Cavan, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their established engineering and maintenance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safe operation of plant equipment by carrying out preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, mechanical installations, and continuous improvement projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter looking to develop their career within a modern industrial environment, working with a highly experienced team and supporting the smooth running of a large-scale production facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on mechanical plant, machinery, and site services.
• Respond to breakdowns and carry out effective fault finding and repairs to minimise production downtime.
• Complete mechanical fitting, equipment refurbishment, installations, modifications, and upgrades.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain efficient plant operations.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and health & safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Participate in a rotating 12-hour shift pattern covering both day and night operations.

Candidate Requirements

• Mechanical Fitter qualification or equivalent industrial maintenance experience.
• Minimum 1 year’s experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance, or a similar engineering role.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
• Experience working with industrial machinery or heavy plant equipment is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of preventative maintenance practices and safe working procedures.
• Full driving licence preferred.
