Junior Account Manager – Kildare
Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
Salary: €40,000 – €45,000 DOE
Reports to: Head of Sales & Business Development
Job Purpose
The Junior Account Manager will support the management and development of a portfolio of customer accounts, helping to maximise sales, profitability and customer satisfaction. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious sales or account management professional looking to develop their career within a commercial FMCG environment.
Working closely with experienced Account Managers and internal teams including Supply Chain, Finance, Sales Administration and New Product Development, the successful candidate will gain exposure to the full account management cycle, from customer engagement and quotations through to forecasting, project management and new business development.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Customer Relationships
• Support the management of a portfolio of existing customer accounts.
• Develop strong and professional relationships with customers.
• Respond to customer queries and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
• Assist with regular customer communication, sales reviews and account updates.
• Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements and expectations.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and develop existing accounts.
Sales & Business Development
• Support the achievement of agreed sales and profitability targets.
• Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities.
• Research prospective customers and identify potential sales opportunities.
• Support senior members of the sales team with customer meetings and presentations.
• Develop an understanding of the sales cycle from initial enquiry through to order and delivery.
• Build confidence in presenting products and commercial solutions to customers.
Forecasting & Supply Chain
• Assist with customer forecasting and product demand planning.
• Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered.
• Monitor customer orders and support effective order fulfilment.
• Assist with inventory requirements, including bespoke finished goods and raw materials.
• Communicate changes in customer requirements to relevant internal teams.
Pricing, Quotations & Projects
• Assist with preparing customer quotations and pricing requests.
• Liaise with Finance and internal teams to ensure accurate commercial information is provided.
• Support customer projects from initial approval through to completion.
• Maintain accurate customer records, documentation and CRM information.
• Assist with coordinating product samples and customer requests.
New Product Development
• Support the New Product Development team in understanding customer requirements.
• Coordinate customer feedback and communicate updates throughout the development process.
• Assist with product and packaging development projects.
• Develop an understanding of customer trends and market requirements.
Reporting & Administration
• Maintain accurate CRM records and customer information.
• Assist with sales forecasting and pipeline management.
• Prepare information for customer and internal sales reviews.
• Monitor account activity and identify potential opportunities or issues.
• Work closely with internal departments to ensure a smooth customer experience.
What We’re Looking For
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
• 1–3 years’ experience in sales, account management, customer service, business development or a similar commercial role.
• Experience within FMCG, food, manufacturing or a related industry would be advantageous but is not essential.
• A genuine interest in developing a career in account management and sales.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good commercial awareness and an interest in understanding customer needs.
• The confidence to communicate with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience using CRM systems would be advantageous.
• A positive, professional and customer-focused approach.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team.
• A willingness to learn and develop commercial, account management and FMCG knowledge.

This role offers an opportunity to develop a broad understanding of FMCG account management and commercial sales, with exposure to key customers, pricing, forecasting, supply chain, new product development and business development.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced members of the commercial team and will have the opportunity to gradually take increased ownership of customer accounts and commercial opportunities as their experience develops.
Some travel may be required as part of the role.
The responsibilities of the role may evolve over time in line with the changing needs of the business.
