Interim Director of Digital Learning- Temporary – Dublin 4

Osborne are currently recruiting for an Interim Director of Digital Learning in Dublin 4. This is a temporary position on a week-to-week basis. The working hours are 35 hours per week with blending working.  

We are seeking an experienced senior leader with the relevant qualifications and expertise to take on this role and make an immediate impact. This is a busy, hands-on position requiring strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: €85,000 DOE.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Progress the development of the organisation’s digital learning ecosystem, with a focus on scalable, accessible, and learner-centred solutions.
• Support the implementation of a new Learning Experience Platform and oversee the successful migration from the existing platform.

Department and Team Leadership

• Lead and manage the Digital Learning team of approximately six staff, fostering high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Deliver and achieve financial and performance KPIs for the department in line with established financial modelling, pricing policies, and strategies.
• Ensure compliance with organisational governance, policies, and public sector accountability requirements.

Operational and Business Management

• Manage departmental budgets, performance targets, and revenue objectives.
• Oversee supplier contracts and ensure appropriate procurement processes are followed.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Communications, HR, academic and professional development teams, and operational functions, to ensure cohesive service delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client organisations and public sector stakeholders.

Person Specification

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Significant senior leadership experience, ideally within learning and development, education, digital learning, or a public sector environment.
• Strong strategic thinking, organisational, and programme management capabilities.
• Experience developing and implementing digital learning strategies and services.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects and change initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing budgets, performance targets, and business development activities.
• Experience within, or working closely with, the Irish Public Service would be advantageous.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and organisations to deliver results.
