Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time (35 hours per week)

We are recruiting a Head of Quality to join the Senior Management Team of a leading, multi-site organisation delivering specialist health and social care services. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an ambitious professional who is passionate about governance, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional person-centred services.


The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Management Team, you will lead the organisation’s quality, compliance and risk management functions, ensuring services consistently meet regulatory requirements while driving a culture of continuous improvement.


Working closely with operational leaders, you will influence strategy, strengthen governance, oversee audits and inspections, and ensure quality standards are embedded across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organisation’s quality, governance, compliance and risk strategy.
  • Develop and maintain robust quality management systems and risk frameworks.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives across multiple services.
  • Lead internal audits, compliance reviews and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with HIQA, New Directions and all relevant legislation.
  • Oversee incident management, regulatory reporting and corrective action planning.
  • Develop and review organisational policies and governance frameworks.
  • Support Board Committees through high-quality reporting and governance advice.
  • Partner with senior operational managers to embed quality into day-to-day service delivery.
  • Lead and develop the Quality team while promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.


About You

You are an experienced leader with a strong background in regulated health or social care environments. You thrive on improving services, influencing stakeholders and leading organisational change.


Essential Requirements

  • Level 8 qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum five years’ experience within intellectual disability or related services.
  • At least three years’ experience in a senior management position.
  • Strong working knowledge of HIQA standards, New Directions and relevant legislation.
  • Proven experience leading quality, audit or compliance functions.
  • Excellent analytical, report writing and communication skills.
  • Strong project management and change leadership capability.
  • High level of competence in governance, audit methodology and KPI development.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
