General Operatives – Manufacturing – Cavan

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, takes pride in doing a job well and would like to become part of a supportive and experienced production team. Previous manufacturing or production experience would be beneficial.

Job Title: General Operative – Manufacturing

Duration: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Co. Cavan

Working Arrangement: On-site | Rotating Shift Pattern Following Training

Salary: €14.50 per hour starting rate, with an additional shift allowance and a salary increase following successful completion of probation.

Working Hours:

All successful candidates will initially complete their training on a day shift:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm

Following training, you will move to a rotating shift pattern, Monday to Friday:

• Morning Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
• Evening Shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm

Contracted Hours: 39 hours per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a General Operative, you’ll play an important role in supporting daily production activities and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the day-to-day production and manufacturing processes.
• Handling, preparing and moving materials and finished products as required.
• Operating and working alongside production equipment in line with training and company procedures.
• Following production instructions, quality checks and operational standards.
• Completing manual handling tasks, including some heavy lifting and physically demanding duties.
• Using internal systems to scan, track and record products.
• Carrying out basic computer and data entry tasks to maintain accurate production records.
• Working closely with colleagues and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
• Following all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe.
• Supporting other production and operational activities where required.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for individuals who are dependable, practical and willing to learn. A positive attitude, good attention to detail and the ability to work well with others will be important in this role.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehousing or a similar hands-on environment.
• A reliable approach to work and a strong work ethic.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use scanning equipment and complete simple data entry.
• The ability to carry out physical duties, including manual handling and lifting.
• A good understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Availability to work the rotating Monday-to-Friday shift pattern following training.
