We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freight Manager to lead global freight and supply planning operations, ensuring products move safely, efficiently and cost-effectively from suppliers through to customers.
This is a key role within the supply chain function, with responsibility for managing a team of Supply Chain Planners, developing efficient freight solutions and working closely with customers and internal stakeholders. Managing key customers from markets in the US and Asia.
This permanent full time position will be hybrid but flexibility is required and offices are located in Leixlip Co Kildare.
Due to location – Own transport would be required
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- €75,000
- Monday to Thursday 8am – 4pm, Friday finish at 3pm
- Pension: Company contribution of 10%.

Responsibilities:
- Manage global inbound, outbound and reverse logistics operations, ensuring the safe, compliant and cost-effective movement of goods.
- Lead and support a team of Supply Chain Planners, ensuring continuity of supply and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Develop reliable and efficient supply routes for new territories and business opportunities.
- Manage regular weekly and monthly customer meetings, providing updates and addressing operational requirements.
- Own the forecasting process and identify medium- and high-level supply chain risks and issues.
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate any concerns or ongoing performance issues.
- Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs through innovative logistics solutions, including consolidated shipping and direct shipping models.
- Work collaboratively across departments, providing training, guidance and knowledge sharing to Supply Chain teams.
- Take ownership of planning and freight software, ensuring systems continue to meet business requirements.
- Manage system upgrades and improvements, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
- Provide regular analysis, reporting and recommendations to management to support business decisions.
Key Requirements:
- A third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in supply planning, global logistics or international supply operations.
- Strong knowledge of global freight compliance, customs regulations and international trade documentation.
- Proven experience and knowledge of Land, Sean and Air freight.
- Proven experience managing or influencing significant freight budgets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced Excel (Pivot Tables & VLookUps)/Google Sheets capability.
- Experience working with ERP and supply chain planning systems, such as SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis or similar.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information and recommendations clearly to management.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and cost efficiencies.
- High levels of integrity, accountability and professionalism.
