Overview
Osborne Recruitment are seeking a talented and ambitious Controls Engineer to join our client’s growing engineering team in Virginia, Co. Cavan.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of automation and industrial engineering projects, developing innovative solutions across controls, robotics, machine vision, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and is eager to expand their skillset in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support automation and control systems for industrial projects
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimise PLC-based control systems
- Support the integration and commissioning of automation equipment
- Work with robotics, machine vision, and other advanced manufacturing technologies
- Participate in machine development, testing, validation, and continuous improvement activities
- Diagnose and resolve control system issues during commissioning and customer support activities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions
- Contribute to project planning, documentation, and technical problem-solving
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree or qualification in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a controls engineering role
- Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with robotics, machine vision systems, or automation technologies is highly desirable
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- A practical, hands-on approach to engineering challenges
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
