Commercial & Operations Director
Osborne Recruitment is seeking an experienced Commercial & Operations Director to play a key leadership role in the next stage of our client’s growth. Working closely with the owners, the successful candidate will lead across commercial and operational performance, bringing greater structure, accountability and consistency to the business.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who can operate strategically while remaining close to day-to-day delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the delivery of commercial and operational strategy.
- Improve business processes, structure and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Introduce and monitor relevant KPIs, reporting and management controls.
- Ensure commercial commitments are effectively translated into operational delivery.
- Drive effective use of CRM and operational systems across the business.
- Improve visibility across pipeline, workflow, customer delivery and performance.
- Work across multiple internal and external stakeholders, ensuring strong communication and alignment.
- Support managers and teams in improving accountability, performance and service delivery.
- Identify operational risks, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer experience and service quality.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a commercially astute, operationally strong leader with experience working in a growing, fast-paced environment.
- 5+ years’ senior leadership experience in commercial operations, operations management, general management or a similar role.
- Strong experience managing and improving business operations.
- Proven experience implementing SOPs, processes and performance controls.
- Significant experience using CRM systems to support commercial and operational performance.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders across different business functions.
- Strong people leadership and communication skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to drive change through to implementation.
Experience within an owner-managed, entrepreneurial or family-run business would be highly advantageous. Experience within solar, renewable energy, construction, engineering or a related sector would be beneficial but is not essential. Previous exposure to Xoxoday would be an advantage.
