Administrative Assistant – Risk, Business Continuity & Compliance

Location: Galway (On-site initially, with blended working available following successful training and performance review)
Contract Type: Temporary Agency Contract
Duration: 6 months (August 2026 – February 2027), with the possibility of extension subject to business requirements
Salary: €33,000 – €40,000 per annum
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (with a one-hour unpaid lunch break)
Annual Leave: 23 days per annum (pro rata), plus public holidays

About the Role

Osborne Recruitment is seeking an organised, detail-focused and proactive Administrative Assistant to join a busy Risk, Business Continuity & Compliance team on behalf of our client.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to provide high-quality support within a professional environment, contributing to governance, compliance, risk management and operational activities.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance & Operational Management, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day administrative functions, ensuring accurate documentation, effective coordination and smooth delivery of governance and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support across Risk Management and Business Continuity Planning activities.
  • Assist with the development, maintenance and coordination of organisational policies and governance frameworks.
  • Prepare documentation, maintain registers, update records and liaise with internal stakeholders.
  • Support the organisation and administration of governance, audit and committee meetings, including preparation of meeting materials and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with audit coordination, tracking actions and maintaining relevant documentation.
  • Create, manage and update SharePoint sites and document libraries.
  • Maintain internal intranet and website content as required.
  • Carry out desktop research to support business projects and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support for procurement and tendering activities.
  • Maintain accurate, well-organised records, files and documentation.
  • Undertake additional administrative duties to support the wider Compliance, Risk, Governance and Corporate Services functions.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working in an administrative role within a busy professional environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and contribute effectively as part of a team.
  • Professional approach with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within Governance, Risk, Compliance, Audit or Corporate Services environments.
  • Experience using SharePoint or similar document management systems.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes, tender administration or contract documentation.
