Introduction
A growing and data-driven insurance organisation is seeking to appoint a Senior Data Analyst to support the continued development of its analytics, reporting, and data governance capability. Operating within the personal lines market, the business is investing heavily in improving visibility, insight, and decision-making across its underwriting and operational functions.
This role will play a key part in strengthening the organisation’s reporting infrastructure and enhancing the quality, consistency, and accessibility of business data across multiple systems and functions.

Duties / Responsibilities
Data Platform Ownership & Development
Support the ongoing enhancement and governance of the organisation’s centralised data environment
Improve data structures, metric definitions, and reporting consistency across multiple systems
Integrate and harmonise data from various business sources
Develop and maintain validation checks, reconciliation controls, and refresh processes
Strengthen documentation around data lineage, definitions, and reporting logic
Data Analysis & Business Insight
Analyse portfolio and operational performance across products, channels, and business areas
Identify trends, movements, and drivers within key datasets
Support detailed analysis to explain business performance and emerging issues
Translate complex datasets into practical and actionable business insight
Management Information & Reporting
Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and management information packs
Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, consistent, and delivered in a timely manner
Support ad hoc analytical and reporting requests from stakeholders across the business
Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting processes and data visibility
Data Quality & Governance
Monitor and validate data quality across reporting environments
Work closely with business and technical teams to resolve inconsistencies and data gaps
Support the development of robust governance standards and reporting controls
Maintain clear documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and business logic
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with teams across underwriting, pricing, finance, operations, and distribution
Understand business requirements and convert them into analytical outputs and reporting solutions
Present findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Key Requirements
Strong experience working within data analytics, reporting, or MI-focused roles
Proven experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, or centralised reporting environments
Strong SQL and/or Python capability
Advanced Excel skills
Experience handling and analysing large structured datasets
Strong understanding of relational databases and data structures
Experience working with BI and reporting tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain insights clearly to stakeholders
Desired Skills
Previous experience within insurance, financial services, or regulated environments
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting platforms
Exposure to pricing, underwriting, or portfolio analytics environments
Experience supporting data governance or reporting standardisation initiatives
Experience using both SQL and Python would be advantageous
