Osborne Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Accountant on behalf of a public sector organisation based in Dublin 2. This role will support the Financial Controller in delivering high-quality financial reporting, governance, and audit processes within a complex healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements, account reconciliations, cost analysis, and reporting, while supporting both internal and external audit requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to contribute to a high-impact finance function within a key public sector body.

Salary: €60,000 pro rata
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare Annual Financial Statements including liaison with the Comptroller and Auditor General
Ensure strong budgetary control is maintained and recommend corrective actions where necessary
Prepare management accounts on a monthly and annual basis
Provide timely and accurate financial and budgetary information to third parties
Support internal and external audit processes including preparation of working papers and responding to audit queries
Liaise with auditors, banks, hospitals, suppliers, and other external stakeholders
Provide support and documentation for the Internal Audit function
Assist in the development and implementation of financial and information systems
Facilitate integration of financial data with internal systems
Report on Accounts Payable activity and support overall finance operations
Supervise and support staff within the Finance Unit where required
Ensure financial operations comply with Department of Health guidelines, procedures, and regulations
Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and controls
Act as a key point of contact for financial queries across the organisation
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
Proven experience preparing Financial Accounts and Management Accounts
Experience dealing with both internal and external audit processes
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data
Excellent knowledge of financial controls, reporting, and governance processes
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Desirable:
Experience working in the public sector and/or healthcare environment
