Senior Payroll Specialist

Location: Dundalk
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

We are partnering with our client, a leading Top 20 accountancy and taxation practice with a strong presence in the Northeast, to hire an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join a busy and growing payroll bureau team. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: 38k-45k DOE

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing

  • Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls using Brightpay

  • Review and validate timesheets prior to processing

  • Calculate statutory payments (sick pay, maternity, paternity, etc.) and holiday pay

  • Manage benefits in kind (BIK) within payroll

  • Maintain pension records and liaise with providers

  • Prepare and process salary payments

  • Issue payslips in line with payroll deadlines

  • Submit PAYE returns to Revenue and manage related payments

Client Management

  • Manage a portfolio of payroll clients

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships

  • Deliver high-quality payroll services within agreed timelines

  • Support proposals and client presentations where required

Key Requirements:

  • 2–3+ years’ experience in a payroll bureau environment

  • IPASS qualified (or equivalent)

  • Strong knowledge of Irish payroll (PAYE, PRSI, USC, BIK, ROS, etc.)

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines

  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members (desirable)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proactive, organised and solutions-focused

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
