Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager on a pharmaceutical construction project in Cork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the management and coordination of site activities on pharma construction projects.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project milestones.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in line with stringent Health & Safety, GMP, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Drive project programme, sequencing, and logistics to meet critical deadlines in live or high-spec environments.
  • Monitor and control project costs, labour, and materials to ensure efficient delivery within budget.
  • Act as the primary on-site point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and reporting.
  • Proactively identify and resolve site issues, mitigating risks to programme and quality.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with current building regulations and pharmaceutical compliance requirements.
  • Maintain high-quality standards across all aspects of the build, with a strong focus on finishes and compliance documentation.
  • Manage multiple work fronts or phases, particularly on large or complex facilities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing teams on complex construction sites.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects within strict regulatory environments (pharma, life sciences, or similar highly controlled sectors).
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commercial awareness with experience in cost control and resource management.
  • Decisive problem-solver, able to make informed decisions in high-pressure site environments.
  • Solid technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and current regulations.
  • High attention to detail, particularly in quality assurance and compliance-driven projects.
  • Adaptable and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage evolving project requirements.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Relevant third-level qualification or trade background.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Site Manager (or similar) role.
  • Proven track record delivering construction projects, ideally within pharmaceutical or regulated environments.
  • Experience working with main contractors and subcontractor management.
  • Strong understanding of building regulations, certification, and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
