Finance Manager – Contractor
Our client based in Kildare are looking to hire a Finance Manager/Controller initially on a temporary/contracted basis to potentially go long term. This role will play a key part within the Leadership Team and will lead the finance team from strategic and operational perspective they will also be part of Board meetings. You will be managing a strong team 5 days a week in a fast-paced environment within a transport and logistics organisation. This position is a key leadership role and a position of trust and responsibility for overseeing the full financial reporting cycle, supporting strategic decision making.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts including detailed financial reporting packs.
Conduct variance analysis and provide commentary to support operational and strategic reviews.
Ensure compliance and internal controls, accounting standards, and sector specific financial practices.
Preparation of Board packs including Financial, KPI and other business information required for these meetings.
Lead the preparation of the annual budget and maintain forecasts, working with operational Manger across the business.
Monitor and manage cash flow.
Oversee banking relationships.
Supervise the payroll process.
Document and improve the Credit Management Process
Ensure timely and accurate submission of Revenue and CSO returns.
Lead the annual audit process and be the main point of contact with external auditors.
Maintain financial data compliance.
Manage, mentor, and develop the team of finance professionals fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Set up formal procurement and supplier set up process to review key spending and supplier arrangement across the business.
Develop KPI’s relevant to transport and warehousing operations.
Leverage the reporting and functional capabilities of internal systems to drive business productivity and profitability in the company.
Key Requirements
Finance Degree in Accountancy, Finance – Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
4+ years’ experience within a similar role.
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, family-run business environment.
Experience on systems such a Xero
