Project Director 

We are currently collaborating with a public sector body in seeking to recruit a high calibre Project Director to lead the initiation, procurement and delivery of large-scale Government infrastructure programmes, including the provision of support and assistance to Government Departments and Agencies across various sectors.
This is a senior role with leadership, management and stakeholder engagement responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellent project management, technical and contractual experience in the field of infrastructure procurement and delivery.

Salary: DOE + Excellent Benefit package

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a project management team delivering service to clients

  • Engaging at a senior level with internal and external stakeholders

  • Develop strong relationship with counterparties and ensuring that the integrity and reputation is held in high regard in all dealings

  • Implement a robust climate action/sustainability strategies and oversight of scheme design and planning processes to ensure the hight sustainable development standards

  • Develop and oversee the execution of programme/project KPI’s

  • Ensure internal and external stakeholders are kept informed and aligned in terms of timelines, budgets, risks and contingency plans

  • Prepare high quality reports, board paters and presentations

  • Review and approve key project documents and recommendations

  • Provide support and advice in delivering on capital investment priorities

  • Working with relevant Director to develop a wider team within this business function.

Key Requirements

  • Third level honours degree or higher, in architecture, engineering, construction, project management, quantity surveying or building related discipline.

  • Project management qualification is desirable.

  • Knowledge of the stages, governance and approvals relating to the delivery of public infrastructure projects.

  • 15+ years relevant project management experience relating to the initiation, public procurement and delivery of major building or infrastructure projects

  • Strategic advisory / Strategic review expertise.

  • Experience of leading and managing in-house and external project teams.

  • Strong leadership and project/programme management experience at a senior level with a demonstrable record of achievement and delivery.

  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of the construction sector and the underlying supply chain and associated challenges.

  • Excellent team leadership and project management skills.

  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Highly innovative with strong analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communications (written, oral and presentation) skills.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail while simultaneously seeing the bigger picture enabling them to make informed recommendations.

  • Full clean driving licence.
