Engineering Manager – AI

Position: Permanent, Full-Time

Introduction:

We are currently seeking an Engineering Director – AI to join a growing technology organisation in Dublin.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping engineering strategy, leading technical teams, and driving the development of advanced AI-enabled solutions within a modern, cloud-based environment.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and direction across engineering teams, supporting delivery of scalable and reliable software solutions
Lead, mentor, and support engineering managers and senior technical contributors
Help define and implement effective engineering processes, standards, and delivery practices
Oversee the design and development of distributed systems and modern application architectures
Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure alignment with engineering best practices
Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support product delivery and technical initiatives
Establish and monitor engineering performance metrics and delivery outcomes
Support team growth through hiring, coaching, and organisational development
Provide technical guidance and contribute to long-term engineering and technology planning
Encourage adoption of modern tools, technologies, and development practices

Key Requirements:

Extensive experience in software engineering within product-focused or technology-driven environments
Proven experience in engineering leadership roles, including managing managers and senior engineers
Strong technical background with experience in modern programming languages and backend systems
Experience designing and supporting scalable, distributed applications
Experience working within cloud-based environments and modern deployment practices
Strong understanding of software development methodologies and engineering processes
Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Desired Skills:

Experience working in fast-paced or scaling technology environments
Experience contributing to architectural or technical strategy
Experience leading or growing engineering teams
Exposure to AI, data-driven, or intelligent software systems
Experience improving engineering processes and delivery maturity
Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities
