Bookkeeper

We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a minimum 3-month temporary contract with a potential for permanency based in Little Island. This role is ideal for an accounts professional who can hit the ground running and support a busy finance function during a period of increased activity.

  • Location: Little Island, Cork
  • Start: ASAP
  • Hours: Full-time/Flexible
  • Salary: DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record all financial transactions and maintain up-to-date ledgers.
  • Process weekly/monthly payroll, including timely PAYE/PRSI submissions.
  • Manage supplier invoices, payment runs, and customer invoicing.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations for bank, supplier, and customer accounts.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Maintain documentation for external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and other Revenue filings.
  • Manage petty cash and reconcile company credit card statements.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors.
  • Support stock control reconciliations (useful in production or retail environments).
  • Maintain strong financial controls and confidentiality at all times.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounts role.
  • At least 1 year working in an Irish accounts environment.
  • Experience with Xero (accounting software) and BrightPay (payroll) is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and ability to work independently.
