National Account Manager

Here at Osborne, we are currently hiring a National Account Manager on behalf of our client, one of Ireland’s leading FMCG groups. This role will be based in Clonmel, Tipperary.
The ideal candidate will report to the Commercial Manager while working closely with other departments and will aim to maximise sales for both UK and Irish retail markets. 
 
Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: €52,000+ DOE and on level of seniority

Responsibilities:

  • Own the sales budgets for specific retailer accounts
  • Be an active and key member of the Commercial team
  • Achieve revenue and margin targets by executing the sales strategy in target markets
  • Accurately forecast product requirements and business potential
  • Gather customer data on current use and future needs to identify market opportunities
  • Create new sales opportunities from the existing portfolio
  • Develop and implement efficient account planning and reporting programs
  • Collaborate closely with finance on DSO, credit limits, and overdue payments

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a similar position is ESSENTIAL
  • A third-level qualification is desirable, but specific experience in sales of private label FMCG goods is ESSENTIAL
  • Ability to build a stable customer base for long-term profitable growth
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in key account sales/business management, especially in sales growth scenarios, with the ability to present, be credible, and win business from high calibre customers
  • Extensive experience of Retail Sector and FMCG
  • Strong commercial acumen, numeracy, and pricing ability
  • Highly motivated and resilient
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in winning, keeping and growing new accounts
  • Understanding of how decisions impact the business and customers
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
  • Proven ability to sell solutions rather than off-the-shelf or packaged products
  • Good understanding of technical and quality matters, and best practices in the food industry
  • Strong IT and spreadsheet skills
  • Technical acumen to collaborate with other departments
