Content Research Journalist (On the road) – Dublin City Centre – Hybrid – 12 month FTC

Here at Osborne we have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Journalist to join the team of a growing membership organisation within the construction/architecture/engineering industry. Our client is committed to delivering exceptional projects and driving innovation in the industry. The role will involve sourcing, analysing, writing, and editing content aligned with the development of a national platform for MMC.
This is a unique opportunity for a driven and creative individual to travel to various locations to source and populate content for a nationally funded high-profile digital platform promoting Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).

Location: Dublin City Centre based however nationwide travel is required (A full clean drivers license & Car is required for this post)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site interviews with state bodies, HR professionals & leaders within the construction, architecture and engineering industry to capture insightful trends.
  • Research and gather information on current and upcoming construction projects, trends, and innovations.
  • Write and produce high-quality content for various platforms, including blogs, articles, social media, and newsletters.
  • Coordinate with graphic designers, photographers & videograpers to produce photographs and video footage on-site to complement written content.
  • Working closely with a wider project team including project lead, senior project manager, technology partner, marketing and promotion manager and administrative support to meet deadlines.
  • Develop relationships with project managers and on-site teams to ensure accurate and compelling pieces.
  • Collaborate with the marketing & communications professionals to align content with the organisations objectives.
  • Finding and verifying appropriate information using a variety of sources, methods, and techniques. Ability to interpret the data and identify key points of public interest and gaps.
  • Travel to construction sites and offices nationwide as required.

Requirements:

  • A bachelors degree in Media, Journalism or Communications & a minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience OR 5 years proven experience in journalism, communications, media or a similar field without a qualification.
  • Strong research skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and sources of information.
  • Ability to identify demographics, personality types, and stakeholder communities that would find the MMC content most useful. 
  • Familiarity with the construction industry or experience within this industry is an advantage but not essential.
  • A clean valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationwide is essential
