Accounts Assistant – 6 month FTC

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant on behalf of our client, a prominent financial services firm. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is essential in delivering timely and accurate financial information. Key responsibilities include managing the general ledger, overseeing accounts payable, cash management, and supporting the audit process. This role provides an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic finance team and enhance your experience in financial reporting and reconciliations.

Location: Dublin 2
Hybrid: Work-from-home options available after training (2 days WFH)
Salary: €40,000 – €45,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger & Reconciliation: Maintain the ledger, complete bank and payroll reconciliations, and review journal entries.
  • Investment Register: Update and reconcile investments and perform monthly interest calculations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare draft management accounts, monthly liquidity reports, and submit weekly regulatory reports.
  • Month/Year-End Support: Collaborate with the CFO on month-end processes, budget prep, and year-end audit files.
  • Cash Management: Manage clearing accounts, process purchase invoices, and assist with cash forecasts.
  • Internal Controls: Conduct weekly bank account reconciliations and support AML compliance by monitoring flagged transactions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or recognized accountancy qualification.
  • Skills: Strong Excel proficiency, attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving abilities. Able to multitask in a dynamic environment.
