Kitchen Assistant

Here at Osborne, we are hiring for a ‘Kitchen Assistant’ for our well-known client based in Kildare. We’re seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join their culinary team.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting the chefs and kitchen staff with food labelling, cleanliness, and general kitchen organisation. This position is perfect for someone with a passion for food, a positive attitude, and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
Employment Type: Permanent, Part-time (20hrs per week)
Hourly rate: €13ph

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations after each use.
  • Sweep and mop floors, empty bins, and clean surfaces at shift end or as requested.
  • Clean glass, mirrors, and windows; dust and polish all surfaces including chairs and tables.
  • Organise product dispatches, label ingredients, and assist with inventory control for the Innovation Team.
  • Weekly cleaning of walk-in fridge/freezer, dry store, oven, and gas hob; complete cleaning schedules.
  • Perform daily maintenance of the dishwasher and ensure all equipment is stored correctly.
  • Assist with order deliveries and maintain clear, safe walkways.
  • Notify management of any repair needs or deficiencies.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and food safety/HACCP guidelines.
  • Flexible in taking on additional cleaning or special projects as directed.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a kitchen assistant/cleaner or in food production facilities is advantageous but not essential.
  • Familiarity with chemical safety data and food safety/HACCP.
  • Strong team player with good organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel is a plus).
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.
