Finance Officer (Part-Time, Permanent)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Officer to join our client’s team on a part-time, permanent basis. This role involves ensuring financial controls, accurate reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the Corporate Services Manager and external service providers, playing a key role in financial management, procurement, payroll, and budget development.

Location: Dublin City Centre
Salary: €35,540 per annum (Pro Rata)
Hours: 28 hours per week (4 days)
Hybrid Model: 1 day in office, 3 WFH

Requirements:

  • Relevant third-level qualification in Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in finance or a related role.
  • Excellent computer skills with experience using accounting software packages.
  • IATI qualification or bookkeeping qualification (desirable).
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Controls: Ensure high-standard financial reports that meet the needs of stakeholders and are delivered within agreed timelines. Ensure financial control systems comply with regulatory and funder requirements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development of the annual budget by analysing costs and forecasting expenditures for contracted services.
  • Financial Accounts: Prepare monthly management reports, including expenditure analysis, month-end reconciliations, and liaise with external accountancy service providers as needed.
  • Procurement & Supplier Management: Oversee procurement and tendering activities, ensuring compliance with financial controls. Process supplier invoices and payments within deadlines.
  • Payroll Administration: Prepare salary information, liaise with payroll and pension providers, and ensure compliance with agreed deadlines and public sector procedures.
  • Expense Management: Administer staff expense claims, ensuring compliance with Revenue and internal policies.
  • Audit & Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits, implementing corrective actions and maintaining up-to-date finance policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Corporate Services Manager on reports, financial controls, and strategic initiatives. Participate in working groups and organisational committees as required.
