Operational Procurement Specialist

We require you to have a Batchelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (QQI level 8).

Responsibilities:

  • Capable of fostering strong and influential relationships with internal stakeholder sand Suppliers.
  • Advance the performance and optimize the operational supply base including the development of underperforming and risk suppliers.
  • Support New Product Introduction project activities.
  • Lead major cross functional projects representing Operational Procurement.
  • Manage resourcing/dual source procurement programs in alignment with Strategic Procurement.
  • Support the buying team with supplier escalations to resolution.
  • Support the Operational Procurement Manager with attendance at various meetings and DOA.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • Batchelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (QQI level 8).
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience within a Planning, Logistics or Procurement function, preferably in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Direct buying experience an advantage.
  • Proven experience working within a complex supply chain and leading supply issues to resolution.

  • Team Player, capable of building strong and influential relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ability to conduct and lead meetings effectively across various functions.
  • Good working knowledge of procurement tools, processes, methods, and reports.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
  • Project Management skills: ability to implement process improvements at a site and team level to completion.
  • Analytical skills: the ability to collate and analyse data for appropriate decision making.
