Accountant

Salary: €55,000 – €60,000 DOE
Location: Dublin 2 – Hybrid after probation

Here at Osborne, we are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our clients team. This newly created role is pivotal in providing direct support to the Finance Manager while overseeing the operations of the finance team. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership qualities, possess a proactive attitude, and be adept at multitasking. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and efficiency for the company while playing a key role in shaping their financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly payroll.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounts assistants within the Finance Team.
  • Contribute to month-end tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Aid in the management of accounts, departmental budgets, and annual financial planning.
  • Collaborate on the implementation of a new credit control function.
  • Assist in managing insurance renewals and annual income tax returns.
  • Administer banking, treasury, and loan accounts with precision.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly fee earner time recording reports.
  • Generate monthly and ad-hoc e-Billing files for client submissions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of VAT/payroll and other statutory returns.
  • Facilitate the annual audit process and interact with auditors as needed.
  • Compile quarterly and ad-hoc management information reports for client review.
  • Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual surveys to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
  • Undertake ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager and Partners.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to their implementation.
  • Provide finance-related support and guidance to non-finance staff.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Solicitors Accounts Regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • ACCA or equivalent qualification is essential 
  • Proven experience in a senior accounting role.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
