Maintenance Mechanical Technician

The Maintenance Mechanical Technician plays a crucial role in optimizing line performance by closely collaborating with production, focusing on problem-solving, and implementing preventive maintenance measures.
Reporting to: Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary support for production, collaborating closely with the electrical technician to enhance performance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues within the manufacturing plant.
  • Participate in daily changeovers and start-ups.
  • Work as an integral part of the production team.
  • Execute daily preventive maintenance tasks and checks.
  • Prepare for and contribute to weekly preventive maintenance meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to address maintenance downtime, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve plant-related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to control systems and agreed-upon preventive maintenance protocols.
  • Assist in maintaining the parts system with the Maintenance Administrator.
  • Contribute to Project Management for capital and continuous improvement projects under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Participate in Supplier meetings.
  • Review weekly preventive maintenance plans to ensure alignment with company objectives.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a regulated industry/environment; qualified Trades Fitter/mechanic qualifications are considered.
  • Excellent PC skills.
