EH & S Co-Ordinator

Here at Osborne we are hiring for an EH & S Co-ordinator for one of our clients here in Naas, Co. Kildare.

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary- €35-40K.
  • Hours of work- 8am-4:30pm.

  • 20 days AL, which increases to 23 after 1 year of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a strong health and safety culture by managing a comprehensive near miss and hazard reporting system, ensuring continual communication with the EHS Manager and other department representatives.
  • Coordinate the audit program, conducting regular safety inspections, preparing reports, and implementing corrective and preventive measures. Assist in preparing for external compliance audits.
  • Identify and schedule safety-related training needs, ensuring timely delivery of mandatory training. Develop and distribute health and safety communications to promote continuous improvement. Maintain accurate training records.
  • Manage emergency preparedness arrangements for fire safety, chemical safety, and work-related vehicles across the site.
  • Investigate, record, and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Regularly review and update company risk assessments, safe operating procedures, work instructions, and safety statements.
  • Support the engineering department in managing the contractor management program, including delivering training, updating contractor information, and auditing approved contractors and their activities.
  • Provide daily safety management statistics to senior management, highlighting improvement opportunities and current trends.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety.
  • Preferably 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Certified Manual Handling Instructor, Train the Trainer, and Occupational First Aider.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate safety procedures and regulations clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in computer applications and MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong administrative and literacy skills for report compilation.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with departmental managers to ensure legal compliance and enforcement.
