HSE Practitioner

The Osborne Tech and Eng team are currently sourcing for an exciting opportunity with our client based in Arklow. Our client is a global manufacturer of adhesives and sealants for application the industrial manufacturing, construction and domestic consumer industry sectors.
The HSE Practitioner will be tasked with assisting the Integration and Factory Managers in world-class HSE provision so as to minimise all injuries, incidents, near misses, unsafe acts and conditions directly and through established principles of HSE management.
The role is Arklow based but may involve very occasional travel to UK sites with and hence also in line with the above activities there is a need to be sufficiently physically mobile.

 

Expected activities:

  • Maintain excellent relationships with all employees, plant management, regulators and other key HSE stakeholders.
  • Lead risk assessments and local HSE procedures and support existing SOP documents.
  • Be proactive in all forms of hazard identification and risk control, including safety, workplace and equipment inspections.
  • Conduct recording and analysis of behavioural safety observation reports (CARES), SMART-cards and STOP forms.
  • Conduct necessary occupational exposure measurements and environmental emissions analysis.
  • Provide detailed HSE support to projects and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
  • Ensure waste disposal and other environmental outputs remain within legislative control.
  • Lead and monitor plant permit-to-work and Management of Change Systems.
  • Assist the HSE Manager with compliance determinations and Environmental Compliance Checks.
  • Produce minutes of important HSE meetings, e.g., HSE committee, meetings with regulators
  • Maintain Event Report Database and assist with action management.
  • Assist with near miss, incident, and injury investigations.
  • Maintain plant waste and energy sustainability data.
  • Perform other similar HSE and administration activities to the above as arising and required by the local and or regional HSE Team.

 

Essential requirements:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • Additional competence in project management, logistic safety, machinery safety and work at height safety
  • Safety Leadership experience
  • 3 to 5 year’s experience in a similar role.
