Assistant Accountant

Our client is a leading manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality products. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Qualified Assistant Accountant to join their finance team and contribute to their continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, cost accounting, and variance analyses to support business decision-making
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing invoices, expense claims, and payments
  • Support inventory management processes, including stock valuation, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors during the audit process
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to management as required

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified accountant (8/13 ACCA)
  • Cost accounting experience is essential
  • Previous experience working in an accounting role within the manufacturing sector is essential
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including financial reporting and analysis
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
