Senior Building Surveyor

The Osborne Tech and Eng team are currently recruiting for the role of Senior Building Surveyor to join our client operating in the construction consultancy sector based in Dublin.A great chance to work in a successful boutique firm and to further progress your career. The successful Candidate will work with all site and management with an emphasis on Technical Due Diligence, Statutory Compliance and Project Management.

 

Requirements:

  • BSc, (Hons) Degree in Building Surveying, or equivalent.
  • Must have a high level of computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Microsoft Project is a plus
  • Excellent Technical Skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong team player
  • Current drivers licence

 

Competencies required:

  • Proactive with an ability to work on own initiative and to take the lead where appropriate
  • Previous relevant Commercial Building Surveying experience.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic about taking on new challenges
  • Committed to sharing knowledge and information with colleagues and line managers
  • Is committed to building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Understands client needs and delivers timely response to ensure their needs are met
  • Full understanding of AutoCAD

 

Key functions:

  • Technical Due Diligence
  • Oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Identify defects, potential issues, and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
  • Stay up-to-date with building codes, regulations, and local planning policies.
  • Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with agreed terms.
  • Handle variations, claims, and disputes in collaboration with legal teams.
  • Estimate costs for construction projects.
  • Monitor project budgets and control costs throughout the construction process.
  • Provide financial advice and assistance in budget forecasting.
  • Project Management
  • Identify potential risks associated with construction projects.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
