Financial Accountant

Here at Osborne we are excited to be partnering with our client, a leading Packaging Solutions company, in seeking a Part or Fully qualified Financial Accountant, to join their team in Citywest.
The successful candidate will work closely with and support the Financial Manager and Management Teams to help deliver the Finance strategy for the business.

The Job:

  • To support the Finance Manager with all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including local and group reporting (IFRS) and year end audits
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Posting of miscellaneous journals
  • VAT and Intrastat returns
  • Inventory analysis reduction of slow-moving stock
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Departmental sales
  • Margin analysis.

Other work to include:

  • Provision of AR and AP support
  • Supporting the finance team with various tasks as required
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Month end journals
  • Processing and administering employee expenses
  • Car fleet administration
  • Capex reporting
  • Cost analysis 
  • Ad-hoc tasks within the finance function.
  • Support KPI and target measurement
  • Monitor performance against plan
  • Implement and maintain financial controls
  • Identify areas for improving operational efficiencies and cost reduction and improve working practices and procedures.
  • To demonstrate an attitude of accountability for all areas of Finance work and activities.
  • Handle highly sensitive information with total discretion and confidentiality.
  • Improving financial processes and reporting
  • Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and postings to support department heads to understand their budgets and the financial impact they have on the business
  • Handling financial queries
  • Reporting needs or Finance related issues.
  • To support the finance manager in delivery of all Group (IFRS) and internal financial reporting, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information to all stakeholders to the process.
  • Support the Financial Manager in preparing and reporting all forecasts, plans, budgets and Board of Director (BOD) presentations.
  • Work to enhance performance and maximise EBIT (Earnings before Interest & Tax).
  • Develop strong and effective working relationships across the business to help enable profit centre ownership and accountability.
  • Support actions to review and implement efficiency opportunities and cost reduction programmes.
  • Ensure corporate governance and compliance to local and Group standards, Company policies, tax and legal matters.
  • Support maintenance of the Internal Control System.
  • Provision of insightful and meaningful management information and variance analysis.
  • To understand the software programmes and processes pertinent to the team and be able to operate within them efficiently and effectively.
  • To support the upcoming implementation and rollout of several upgrades to software platforms 
  • Process, report and analyse SAP settlement runs and sales analysis and reporting
  • Cash flow reporting and forecasting and Bellin treasury management system.
  • Periodic Group (IFRS) and Internal reporting
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations & month end journals
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual reports submitted accurately and on time.
  • Accurately report monthly variances to Plan.

The Candidate:

  • 3 years plus accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Qualified with accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA etc) with experience in IFRS
  • Or Part-qualified with relevant experience
  • Or Unqualified with 5-7 years relevant
  • Minimum intermediate excel skills e.g. pivot tables SAP knowledge preferable
  • Good work ethic, organisation and time management skills, self-starter
  • Ability to manage a multitude of priorities at any one time.
  • SAP, Qlikview, Cognos and MS Office
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
