Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant
Osborne is recruiting for a Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant to join a busy and growing accountancy practice based in Waterford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with strong practice experience to join a supportive SME-focused environment working with a diverse client base.
The successful candidate will have a strong practical understanding of accounts and enjoy working closely with clients and colleagues. This role would suit a Senior Bookkeeper, Part-Qualified Accountant, or Fully Qualified Accountant who has developed their experience within an SME or accountancy practice environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied portfolio of client accounts from bookkeeping through to accounts preparation and reporting.
- Complete bank and account reconciliations, journals, VAT, RCT, and payroll as required.
- Prepare accounts to trial balance and assist with year-end accounts.
- Manage financial records accurately and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Assist clients with day-to-day accounting queries and provide practical financial support.
- Support credit control, project accounts, revenue tracking, and forecasting where required.
- Liaise directly with clients and build strong, professional working relationships.
- Support junior team members and assist with general practice and financial administration.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Bookkeeper, Senior Bookkeeper, Accounts Assistant, or Accountant role.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant considered.
- Strong previous experience within an accountancy practice is essential.
- SME-focused practice experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing accounts through to trial balance.
- Strong knowledge of RCT, VAT, payroll, and general accounting principles.
- Agricultural accounts experience advantageous but not essential.
- Strong Excel skills.
